Who is Deniz Kuyumcu?

About Deniz Kuyumcu Born on May 21, 1997, in İzmir, Turkey, Deniz Kuyumcu has been passionate about cinema since childhood. His interest deepened during high school when he created his first short film, Tears of the Warrior, with his friends. Deniz pursued Cinema and Digital Media with a full scholarship at university, where he began crafting his initial short films. In 2018, he directed Time Paradox and followed it in 2019 with Artificial Intelligence. While continuing his studies, he started producing commercial and promotional films, working with over 100 brands, including global companies like Decathlon, Eya Clean, and ByNoGame. His portfolio includes TV commercials broadcast in the UK, Germany, and Iran. During this time, Deniz also undertook several film projects, including Heads Up (Short Film), Lonely Lives (Short Film), Terror in the Woods (Vertical Format Short Film), Flat Earth (Stop-motion), ID 2020 Chapter 1 (Short Film), ID 2020 Chapter 2 (Medium-Length Film), and Signal (Short Film). His work on ID 2020 earned him awards at international festivals and a finalist position in Portugal. In 2020, during the pandemic, Deniz served as the cinematographer for four short films focusing on refugees, supported by Mülteci-Der and funded by the European Union. That same year, he completed advanced color grading training in India, earning the TAC Advanced Training certification. He worked as a colorist on the award-winning short film HAİZ, which received multiple accolades, including the Best Thriller Film award at KIMFF Short Film Festival. In 2021, he served as the colorist for La Chasse, a Franco-Turkish feature film. Further honing his craft, Deniz completed the “Film Making” program at BuffNerds Media in the USA, mastering all technical aspects of cinema. In addition to his work in film, Deniz is also an author. In 2019, he published his first book, Efsaneler – Yıldırım Kuşu (Legends – The Thunder Bird), the first installment of a fantasy series. This 520-page novel debuted at the 19th Tüyap İzmir Book Fair and received media attention from platforms like Oda TV and 35lik. With his diverse experience and dedication to innovation, Deniz Kuyumcu continues to make significant contributions to cinema and literature.
